Meet Our Partners!
ERA is Connecting with EDC: MV
EDC: MV has officially connected with the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), an organization whose mission and values align closely with our own. With our shared focus on sustainability, financial resilience, and mindful decision making, this partnership is an exciting step forward for our community. ERA has generously donated a laptop and projector to support our workshops and our sponsees as they continue their personal and financial growth.
This contribution strengthens our capacity to offer accessible and empowering educational programs. Together, we are planning a Bring Your Old Electronics Day in the coming months. This initiative reflects our joint commitment to reducing electronic waste responsibly and encouraging thoughtful choices that lighten the environmental burden on the earth. We encourage all organizations to reflect on the impact of electronic waste and make responsible recycling a part of their financial and environmental planning. We are proud to have formed this alliance and look forward to the positive impact it will bring.
Our First Partner: First Steps
We are thrilled to announce that our registered charity will be partnering with Lori from First Steps in Saint John, NB, following our successful resume-building workshop, “Job Readiness”, that they hosted at their First Steps building on Coburg.
First Steps partners with the community to offer a supportive environment that enables young pregnant women and their babies to reach their full potential.
In 1997, a group of Saint John businesspeople wanted to help combat the growing poverty problem in Greater Saint John established the “Business Community Anti-Poverty Initiative” (BCAPI). A study was done that concluded that young, single women and their children represent the single largest group of people living in poverty in Saint John. The study also concluded that these women were unlikely to have finished high school, citing personal problems as their foremost reason for dropping out, i.e., pregnancy.
Before joining the First Steps team, Lori worked with the YMCA of Southern New Brunswick, Acadia Broadcasting Corporation, and OSCO, and served on the Rothesay Rotary Club, where she was involved in humanitarian projects both local and international.
Lori is passionate about helping people and developing the community. So it is with great pleasure to announce that Lori will be joining us on our journey to help people from all walks of life improve their chances at a better life with EDC: MV’s programs, such as the successful 2025 Resume Building Workshop. We plan to have many more events with Lori, so be sure to stay tuned!
